A
P&I Inspection is a survey conducted on behalf
of a Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Club to
evaluate the condition, safety, and operational
standards of a vessel.
The inspection focuses on areas such as hull
integrity, machinery, safety equipment,
navigation systems, and compliance with
international regulations.
Its main purpose is to identify potential risks
that may lead to claims, accidents, or
liabilities, and to ensure that the ship
operates in line with industry best practices.
By carrying out such inspections, P&I Clubs
protect both the shipowner and the insurer from
unnecessary exposure to risks.
